Our professional and personal sphere is growing ever larger today. More and more people are moving to other areas to live. Legislation is finding it difficult to keep abreast of this new reality - most governments still levy heavy taxes on cross-border donations and do not actively encourage them.
To promote giving and make it easier to make transnational donations, a number of recognised European foundations have set up the Transnational Giving Europe network.
What should you do if you are resident in Switzerland and would like to make a donation to an organisation based in France, Germany or many other European countries? Simply contact the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in Geneva. If the organisation is recognised by our network partner, you can simply make your donation to the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation and benefit from the advantages of a donation made in Switzerland.
