{"id":10576,"date":"2021-03-15T17:08:52","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T16:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swissphilanthropy.ch\/2021\/03\/15\/une-annee-de-collaboration-a-succes-avec-lorganisation-mondiale-de-la-sante-et-la-fondation-des-nations-unies\/"},"modified":"2021-03-25T10:13:03","modified_gmt":"2021-03-25T09:13:03","slug":"une-annee-de-collaboration-a-succes-avec-lorganisation-mondiale-de-la-sante-et-la-fondation-des-nations-unies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swissphilanthropy.ch\/de\/2021\/03\/15\/une-annee-de-collaboration-a-succes-avec-lorganisation-mondiale-de-la-sante-et-la-fondation-des-nations-unies\/","title":{"rendered":"A successful year of collaboration with the World Health Organization and the United Nations Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To face the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched the\u00a0<em>COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund<\/em> on 13 March 2020, co-hosted by the\u00a0<strong>United Nations Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Swiss Philanthropy Foundation. <\/strong>This is the only way for individuals, corporations and foundations around the world to directly support the work of WHO and partners to help countries prevent, detect, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially where needs are greatest.<\/p>\n<p>Our mission has been to collect donations in Switzerland and Europe, which are then used by the WHO and its partners to assist countries according to the\u00a0<em>WHO COVID-19 Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan (SPRP)<\/em>, outlining the global public health strategies to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The association of our european partners of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transnationalgiving.eu\/\">Transnational Giving Europe<\/a> network and KBF Canada also helped to collect donations from European and Canadian donors.<\/p>\n<p>After 12 months of activities, 662\u2019000 donors (individuals, corporations, foundations) have participated in the global effort raising over $242 million. In Europe, $32 million have been collected through Swiss Philanthropy Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Since 13 March 2021, the newly created\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.foundation\/en\">WHO Foundation<\/a>\u00a0officially takes over the activities of the\u00a0<em>COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund<\/em> and becomes the main agent in collaboration with the United Nations Foundation and a global network of partners.
