Master Class 2021 : New success of the 9th edition of the intensive course in philanthropy in the French-speaking Switzerland.

Organized by Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in partnership with the Center for Philanthropy Studies of Basel (CEPS), in association for the first time with the Centre in philanthropy of Geneva University (UNIGE), the Master Class in philanthropy took place from 1st to 3rd September 2021 at Château de Bossey (VD).

The 2021 edition brought together 25 participants from the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Zurich and Valais, active in foundation boards, but also in the financial, banking and legal fields as well as philanthropists.

The three days were punctuated by the intervention of philanthropy experts in fields as varied as they were complementary, relating to governance, the organization of the structure, impact, new forms of collaborations, current developments and sustainable finance. These contributions were complemented by the testimonies of four representatives of the various roles in philanthropy, philanthropist, foundation board member and project leaders.

In addition to the quality of the session and the pragmatism of the speakers, the participants appreciated the enriching group dynamics with a lot of space for dialogue and exchanges.

“Good alternation between modules, testimonials and breaks to deepen the discussions, which allows for a better understanding. We come out with concrete elements – decomplexing on an often complex subject,” said one of the participants.
