For the first time since its creation in 1998, a meeting of the tops-leaders of the member foundations of the Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) network took place in Geneva on October 17th. The event offered the opportunity for discussions about the challenges, the opportunities and the mission of a major philanthropic actor in the facilitation of cross-border donations in Europe.
Supported by a network of 20 members across Europe allocating about €10 millions per year, the development of the TGE has accelerated during the last decade. This way, the recent launch of a digital platform for donations testifies to the commitment of all members in favour of a better efficiency in the support of the European philanthropic environment. The continuous integration of new members within the network demonstrates the dynamism and the attraction of the TGE network in Europe.
This unique meeting was followed by the TGE annual operational meeting (Steering Committee) which allowed to address issues and current perspectives of the network. We thank the members of Transnational Giving Europe for this success and wish again that its development achieves a new momentum for European philanthropy.
