Giving Without Borders for Culture

Did you know ?
In 2024, 10% of donations made through the Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) network supported culture. Of those, 28% were directed to opera and classical music.

This interesting insight was shared by Etienne Eichenberger, President of Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, during the Opera Europa Autumn Conference, held at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
This biannual event brings together professionals from the opera world across Europe to foster dialogue, hcollaboration, and the continued strengthening of the sector.
On this occasion, Etienne moderated in a panel alongside Edilia Gänz, Camille Claverie Li, and Rosa Haker, dedicated to new approaches in online fundraising and crowdfunding. He highlighted the Transnational Giving Europe network solution, which enables cross-border donations, with Swiss Philanthropy Foundation serving as the Swiss representative.
