« Invest for Impact » : 15 innovative impact investing funds gathered in Zurich by th European Venture Philanthropy Association

Swiss Philanthropy Foundation (SPF) participated in the “ « Invest for Impact » event organised by the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) and the Centre for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth of the University of Zurich on April 24 in Zurich.

In partnership with King Baudouin Foundation (Belgium) and the University of Zurich, this workshop enabled 15 innovative impact investing funds from 8 different countries to meet with the Next Gen et and present their solutions, as well as to discuss the successes, opportunities and challenges of each. résenter. Impact investing funds make it possible to invest capital in favour of development projects while generating social and environmental impact as well as financial returns.

Swiss Philanthropy Foundation was represented by Sabrina Grassi, Director of Operations, in the « Managing Impact: Approaches, Challenges & Lessons Learnt » panel.

The high-impact “Education & Employment” thematic fund was presented. Created in 2015, the main purpose of this fund is to facilitate access to training and employment for disadvantaged youth from all around the world. Currently engaging CHF 3 million to support 12 organisations over the world, the “Education & Employment” fund trains more than 13,000 youth and more than 3,000 of whom are employed today.

Monitoring projects with key indicators allowing the Foundation to measure the achievement of results and objectives. Impact and efficiency are maximized through the sharing of good practices between organisations,allowing them to capitalizes on their experiences for scaling up.

The fund inaugurates this year a second cycle of projects, for which private donors and foundations can join to the funding, allowing cost sharing and an interesting leverage effect, while benefiting from professional project management.
