The last few days have put the spotlight on our thematic fund Footprint ! The latest reports highlight how our projects are bearing fruit.
In Switzerland, ProSpecieRara is working to improve the protection and dissemination of endangered breeds. Within one year, the project ensured the breeding of 251 animals. We are also celebrating the collaboration of 19 new breeders who are strengthening the project’s ecosystem: an important milestone in this collective effort.
In Brazil, Renctas continues its fight against online wildlife trafficking. On one hand, the organization exposes the problem: so far, there have been 16 convictions and 166 seizures of trafficked items. On the other hand, it supports the creation of alternative sources of income for local communities. While traditional ornaments are made from bird feathers, Renctas offers another solution: feathers made from recycled PET. By working with these local communities, Renctas observes the impact of these measures: the protection of 3,000 birds, freeing local communities from the grip of traffickers, and promoting their financial independence.
These results send a strong and promising signal for the future: an inspiring boost for our thematic funds, which are now preparing to embark on a new year filled with projects and ambitions!
