16th Symposium of the Swiss foundations – on 7 June in Geneva

On 7 June 2017, the SwissFoundations association organizes the 16th Symposium of the Swiss foundations, that will take place at the Maison de la Paix in Geneva between 10.15 am and 5.00 pm.

This event, which will take the form of an exchange platform, will gather key actors in the foundation sector in Switzerland. Several interactive discussions and workshops will be organized over the day around a central theme: the value added by foundations to society.

In the context of its commitment to the NewGen Council program, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, Etienne Eichenberger, its President, will facilitate a workshop entitled “The NewGen – What Expectations and What Added Value? “. The purpose of this interactive session is to take the opposite of the popular belief and to focus on what young people bring to philanthropy.

On tour 2017: panel discussion on 1st of June 2017 during the GFSI in Geneva

Conser co-organizes the 8th edition of the GENEVA FORUM FOR SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT (GFSI) on 1 June 2017 at the Richemond Hotel. It is the only annual event on sustainable and responsible investment in Geneva. This edition will highlight the key actors of the responsible finance field and will present the tools of traceability or transparency that make today the sustainable “smart”.

Etienne Eichenberger, President of the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, accompanied by Catherine Baud-Lavigne, Deputy Director of the Chaîne du Bonheur, will participate to a conversation on foundations at 2:15 pm.

Spring of Philanthropy on 12 May 2017 in Brussels

The Spring of Philanthropy is an event organized by the King Baudouin Foundation, that will take place on 12 May in Brussels. Several sessions are scheduled during the day, with the aim of boosting philanthropy in Europe.
Etienne Eichenberger, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation’s Chairman, will participate to a round table on the various ways to give in the philanthropic field.

February 2017

On tour 2017: in Geneva on Tuesday 21 March

In the framework of the events organized in French-speaking Switzerland on the theme “Is philanthropy for you”, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation proposes an original formula: a breakfast animated by a discussion on collaboration between philanthropic foundations for greater impact.

It is through the prism of conversations moderated by Tibère Adler, Director for French-speaking Switzerland at Avenir Suisse, that the idea of working together to achieve larger goals will be addressed. Sabrina Grassi, Administration Manager of Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, will explain how a collaborative sheltered fund works and its advantages. Leslie Harroun, Director of the fund Partners for a New Economy, will explain the leverage effect of such a collaboration to succeed in transforming the current economic system into a sustainable one. Finally, Alexander Barkawi, Founder and Director of the Council on Economic Policies, will tackle the subject from the perspective of the impact created by this kind of collaborative initiatives.

On tour 2017: in Lausanne on Thursday 16 March

To encourage and professionalize philanthropy in and from French-speaking Switzerland, Swiss Philanthropy begins a series of events on the theme “Is philanthropy for you?”.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation is organizing a conference in Lausanne on the theme of philanthropic foundations on Thursday 16 March in collaboration with Fiduciaire Michel Favre SA. Different topics will be covered, such as the philanthropy professions and their accompanying dimension, or the model of the umbrella foundation and its philanthropic fund solution. January 2017

Third edition of the NewGen Council

Following the success of the first two editions of the “NewGen Council” in Geneva and London, the next meeting will take place in New York from 9 to 12 March 2017. This project supported by Swiss Philanthropy Foundation as part of its “Promotion of Philanthropy” thematic fund, in collaboration with WISE – philanthropy advisors, will bring together for the third time the new generation of philanthropists, aged between 25 and 35 years old, from all over the world. In the spirit of ensuring continuity between these meetings, this next edition will focus mainly on the concept of impact, while deepening the aspects of governance and communication within the family, discussed at previous meetings.

Tuesday, 8 November 2016 : Conference about philanthropic foundations in Sion

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation organizes a conference on the topic of philanthropic foundations, taking place on Tuesday 8 November at 5 pm in Sion. The discussions will cover areas such as governance, fiscality and current challenges. Thursday, 12 May 2016: Inauguration of Swiss Philanthropy Foundation’s new offices

This event was an opportunity for the Foundation to gather over 60 partners and donors to join in the celebration.
Swiss Philanthropy Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016.
Moving the Foundation’s registered office to new premises marked an important step in the Foundation’s development and growth.
