Almost CHF 37 million allocated: the Foundation’s year 2022 in figures

2022 was marked by the end of the emergency situation linked to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, between the war in Ukraine, the alarming signs of climate change, or the recent earthquake in Turkey, our world continues to go through many crises, and the generosity of donors is consistently demonstrated.

This year, donations reached CHF 36.7 million to 506 beneficiary organisations in Switzerland and around the world, in areas as diverse as the environment and sustainability, social action, education, and arts and culture.

In 2022, 10 new hosted funds were opened, bringing the total number of funds created by the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation since its creation to 85, of which 65 are active today with 121 people on their steering committees. 458 donors have made donations through their hosted funds or via the Transnational Giving Europe network. The cumulative total of donations received since the creation of the Foundation amounts to CHF 356 million.
