In solidarity with Ukraine, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation provides support for philanthropists to express their generosity

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that, as of March 15, 2022, more than 3 million people had fled the country. If the situation continues to deteriorate, up to 12 million people inside Ukraine and 4 million refugees from Ukraine will need assistance and protection.

Touched by the magnitude of this human tragedy, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation wishes to show its solidarity and provide significant assistance in Ukraine and in the countries hosting the refugees by identifying the initiatives launched by our network of partners and by mobilizing its teams in order to propose solutions to philanthropists who would like to get involved or to extend a commitment already initiated.

Swiss Philanthropy Foundation accompanies donors in their philanthropic projects in support of Ukraine

As a host foundation, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation has decided to mobilize its know-how in order to offer a vehicle for the generosity of philanthropists in support of this crisis. It offers its services and expertise to all donors (individuals, companies or organizations) who wish to support their philanthropic project in Ukraine. This can take the form of the creation of a fund, a donation via the general fund or via the TGE network, or the setting up of a donor circle.

Funds set up by our partners in the Transational Giving Europe network

Our Transational Giving Europe (TGE) partners in the countries bordering Ukraine have set up Rapid Aid Funds to facilitate European donations to support the situation of Ukrainians in the border regions. The donations will be distributed to non-profit organizations active in Ukraine to provide direct emergency aid in the country and to non-profit organizations in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia setting up and supporting the reception of refugees in these countries. WHO Health Emergency Appeal for Ukraine

The Geneva-based WHO Foundation has launched the WHO Health Emergency Appeal for Ukraine, which will raise funds for the WHO response to provide life-saving medicines and supplies and support health workers to help those affected by this crisis in Ukraine and neighboring countries.

Swiss Solidarity, a Swiss donor active for over 70 years in humanitarian aid

In Switzerland, Swiss Solidarity is a reliable fundraising and distribution organization for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The funds raised are used to finance emergency aid and reconstruction projects run by Swiss non-governmental organizations that are partners of Swiss Solidarity. At present, Caritas, the Swiss Red Cross, HEKS, the Terre des hommes Foundation, Helvetas, Medair and Médecins Sans Frontières are active in the region. For the time being, the humanitarian response is mainly linked to the distribution of basic necessities to the population and will also focus on the reception of refugees in the countries bordering Ukraine.
